November 30, 1973 - Faces

Faces single " Pool Hall Richard" b/w "I Wish It Would Rain( With A Trumpet" was released in the UK

Written by group members, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. It was produced by Mike Bobak and Ron Nevison.

Although Ronnie Lane is featured on the picture sleeve, he does not perform on either side of the single. He left the band in June 1973, prior to its recording in early July and its release as a single in December. Instead, guitarist Ronnie Wood took over bass duties on the A-side, and Tetsu Yamauchi, Lane's official replacement, played bass on the live B-side from the Reading Festival in August 1973. Yamauchi's first live performances with the Faces were in July 1973, yet he only became an official member after the recording of "Pool Hall Richard."

The single, released in the UK under the Warner Brothers label, featured the Motown song "I Wish It Would Rain," originally by the Temptations, on the B-side. It reached number 8 on the UK chart in early January 1974 and remained on the chart for 11 weeks.
