Bowie cuts Bruce's songs

A FURTHER instalment in the progress of Bruce Springsteen, lone star, is that David Bowie has just recorded several more of his songs, notably "Spirit In The Night" He's already singled out "It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City" and "Growing Up"

Springsteen was on the sessions down in Philadelphia. He'd been playing down in Philly and a meeting was arranged between Bowie and Bruce. They got on very well. "Growing Up", it's reported, was cut in a way reminiscent of the Who.
