December 5, 1971 - Marc Joins Elton

At Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey, England Marc Bolan joined Elton John and his band on stage for the encore of the Elton's concert, Among the songs performed were 'Whole Lotta Shakin' and 'Get It On'.

"But it wasn't until the end of the concert that Elton really raised the roof, when he was joined on stage by Marc Bolan ... even the most ardent boppers in their wildest dreams wouldn't have expected to see the stage shared by Messrs John AND Bolan.

Quite what they sang was largely unheeded by the standing audience (in fact it was a tuneless version of 'Get It On' - repeated over and over again) in favour of storming the stage.
