December 2nd 1996 Betcha By Golly Wow! (Backed with Right Back Here In My Arms) is released in the UK. The 1st single from the album Emancipation and the 1st time Prince / O{+> had released a cover version. This UK release came in a slip case and included a fold out poster.

"Betcha By Golly Wow!" was the first single made available from Prince's 19th album, "Emancipation," and the third to be credited to . The track "Slave" had been available nearly a year earlier, but only as a cassette given away at a Paisley Park Studios concert.

The single was released two weeks post-album launch, with commercial availability limited to the UK and Australia. In the US, it was distributed solely as a promotional item.

This release was notable as Prince's first single cover version. The accompanying

B-side, "Right Back Here In My Arms," was also from "Emancipation."

In the UK, the single was issued with an orange slipcover sleeve, which included a fold-out poster of Prince (as ), though the tracks and inner artwork remained unchanged.

Chart-wise, the single climbed to number 11 on the UK Gallup Singles Chart, while in the US, it peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay Chart and number 10 on the Billboard R&B Airplay Chart.
